Acts of 2026 Randomness
I have lots of plans for 2026, most of which I won't do, but I thought I would try and plan it out with the idea, that only so much is possible; if it is spread out, month by month I can decide what has to give. And, before it goes in the table I am going to decide why I want to do this project.
My main aims or goals for 2026 are:
- Get a bit fitter, a bit stronger and lose a bit of menopause / cake-induced fat
- Get better at reading and translating Latin
- See 96 different species of birds
- Improve the back garden so I can sit out more and make the front garden even more of a haven for insects
- Actually have a work CPD plan and log my CPD as I go - yes a degree of organisation
- Try lots of fun arts and craft related things without worrying about finding THE thing and maybe create something each week
- Improve my photography and film processing
- Complete my photobook project
- Write more poetry and haiku - one (at least in draft form) poem a week and one haiku a day (also in draft)
- Cook more and different things and take control of my diet
January
- Running - it is feeling a little easier than a few weeks ago, and I have been out every week. I've also swapped out one yoga session for pilates, so as a minimum I am doing 6 yoga sessions and 2 pilates every week, along with tai chi.
- Latin - I have done some everyday except one. Two chapters of So You Really Want to Learn Latin and one and a bit of Lingua Latina under the belt this month, and some short stories. I've also watched quite a few videos - it's getting more complicated though.
- My bird list is at 53 - so not too bad.
- No gardening, no CPD planning and no film processing.
- Not much in the way of fun crafting, although I have bought a book about Nalbinding so that might push things.
- I have written 30 more haiku, a few draft poems and have taken quite a few photos.
